Step into Your Courageous Identity:

“Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out

and asked them, ‘Who is it you want?’ …’Jesus of Nazareth,’ they

replied. ‘I am he,’ Jesus said.”

John 18:4-5

Too often we shrink back from our identity and remembrance

of our God infused signature that defines our capability

worth and value in this world when faced with

threatening confrontation…

This was not the case with Jesus. Jesus clearly knew what the

soldiers were coming for…He knew what the consequence

would be by stepping into His definitive purpose…in spite

of the extreme anxiety that caused the medical condition of

hermatidrosis (blood to seep from his skin due to extreme stress)

just moments earlier in the garden He claimed His identity and

along with it His mission when He said, “I am he.”

How many times have you shrunk back from the opportunity

to stand firm in  your identity; your beliefs; your values;

and your definitive purpose for the sake of being liked?

Approved of? Promoted? Acknowledged? Right? Understood?

Safe? Popular?

It is said of Jesus that He was free from all concern around

the opinions of other people and status.  How many times

do you dilute your authenticity and definitive purpose

because of desired status and popular opinion?

Dear God,

Grant us the grace to step up to the plate and own our

identity in you. To feel the strength of spirit and courage

of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Resurrect within us the

capability to stand firm in our beliefs, values and purpose no

matter what opposition surrounds us….having confidence that

each time we own our identity in you we unleash the power of

the purpose for which our heart beats on earth and once

again YOU will make yourself recognizable to humanity through

our choice for you over fear of disapproval and rejection.
